Some exciting news from Maricela (Mary) Muñoz! Two fantastic panelists and a fantastic moderator. And Josh!

Why I’m Such a Fan:
- Student-focused sessions provide an important complement to law school and institutional sessions. This is not to say one is always better than the other. But my sense is you’ll have a better LL.M. strategy if you combine what you hear from law schools and institutions with what you hear directly from students and graduates. There are important caveats, to be sure. And it is important to know where the information is coming from and what is being discussed and not being discussed. But learning how to weigh information and thinking through both sides of a topic are good skills to learn as lawyers. So may as well get a head start!
- Innovative requests on time. As I shared for the event in Portuguese with Brazilian LL.M. personnel, people are busy and webinars/sessions can feel repetitive. Mary is focused on building out a clear “different” session. Instead of another session on qualifying for the New York Bar, how to write a personal statement, or why School X is the best for LL.M.s, she is focused on the student perspective. So regardless of where you go or what stage of the LL.M. process you’re in, hearing from three LL.M. grads who went to highly ranked U.S. law schools can provide some good advice/context.
- Global Audience with Extra Benefits for Mexican Attorneys and LL.B.s. While Mary and two of the three speakers have first law degrees from Mexico, this event is designed to be helpful to anyone from any country. Rather than focus on Mexico only or a Spanish-language session, this session will be useful to a much wider audience seeking student perspectives. While Mexican attorneys and LL.B. students can probably gain even more through market-specific insights and similar education and practice insights, there will be so much information on before, during, and after the LL.M. experience that will benefit a wider audience.
- Free to Register Before July 1. Mary has offered those who register early an opportunity to attend for free (see her post below). If you’re going to attend, I’d encourage you to register for your ticket in the next couple days.
